Internship Opportunities

Argonne Parades is pleased to offer two internship opportunities for college students who desire to learn the "behind the scenes" aspects of producing a televised parade. Working closely with the Argonne Parade staff the student will have the opportunity for hands on experience in all aspects of parade production.

Event Management Internship

Special emphasis: Script research, information management, day of production experience and operational details

Degree requirement: A candidate majoring in public relations, communications, arts management or related degrees. Writing samples required

Skills: Excellent phone skills, proficient in Microsoft Office 2003, knowledge of simple graphic programs helpful, basic photography skills, good time management and prioritization ability.

Responsibilities include:

• Handling of requests for information about Parade from the general public
• Contact with participants for script information
• Photography of events related to parade preparation
• Assist with the coordination with television outlets
• Day of responsibility - Assist in management of Parade Headquarters
• Assist script writer in assembling information on all groups participating
• A variety of event coordination details

Production Assistant Internship

Special emphasis: Operational details, production schedule development, assistance at rehearsals, credential creation, volunteer coordination

Degree requirement: A candidate majoring in technical theatre, entertainment business, arts management or related degrees

Skills: Excellent phone skills, proficient in Microsoft Office 2003, knowledge of simple graphic programs helpful, good time management and prioritization ability. A good working knowledge of Oklahoma City will be an asset.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist operation manager with vendors
• Production schedule development
• Assistance at rehearsals
• Credential creation
• Volunteer coordination
• Day of coordination of parade marshals
• Assistance in the television production area
• Props management

Time commitment: Monday, October 1 - Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - Hours flexible based on class schedule. Possibly some involvement prior to October 1 still to be determined
